The weight of the world has got you down
Swimming in depression soon you'll drown
A Demon has become your best friend
In your misery you can depend
The Demon holding you tight to the ground
Sad feelings and depression are found
Fits of depression to you’ll he’ll send
In your misery you can depend
His intention is to make you bleed
Feelings of worthlessness that you heed
Misery loves company his greed

A constant battle you've lost all hope
The Demon's no help for you to cope
Can't keep a clear mind, he fills your head
Doesn't want you alive, wants you dead
The world would be better without you
Whispers of doubt he’s planting that’s true
Holding you so you don’t soar instead
Doesn’t want you alive, wants you dead
His intention is to make you bleed
Feelings of worthlessness that you heed
Misery loves company his greed

Things to sort out eats you up inside
But to him you have already died
In your misery he takes delight
Demon of Depression you can't fight
This Demon’s strong taking control
Once you are dead then he gets your soul
He’s guaranteeing you can’t get right
Demon of Depression you can’t fight
His intention is to make you bleed
Feelings of worthlessness that you heed
Misery loves company his greed

You tried real hard, gave it your best shot
Unrelenting Demon all you've got
You lost the will and now you give in
The Demon's too strong and you can't win
Sinking so slowly into abyss
Not realizing you will be missed
Depression and Death under your skin
The Demon’s too strong and you can’t win
His intention is to make you bleed
Feelings of worthlessness that you heed
Misery loves company his greed

This has a real beat to it and a strength. But the strength means that the Demon has not won.
