KALEIDOSCOPIC TRANQUILITY
By Dori Wheeler
KALEIDOSCOPE TRANQUILITY
Glistening saphire waters,
Lapis Lazuli skies,
Kaleidoscope sunsets
Slip behind Amethyst mountains,
Heat rises
With pearlescent fog,
Tiny buzzsaws
Swarm your body,
Interrupting tranquility,
Darkness shimmers,
Diamonds and satin
Blanket Mother Earth,
Spirits awaken,
Dancing like pendulums
Over the now Onyx waters,
Beckoning...
Alluring...
Playing hide-n-seek
On the fringes
Of your already
Fragile mind...

SPIRITS...
By Dori WheelerCobalt skies,
violet and coral
sunsets,
behind purple
mountain ranges,
heat rises
with ghostly fog,
tiny buzz saws
swarm your head,
darkness enters
on a slow
moving train,
spirits surround
over the now
ebony waters,
beckoning,
alluring,
playing
hide-n-seek
on the fringes
of your already
fragile mind...

Desert Scape
By shallimarRose Poet/LyricistDesert Scape
as we drive the
highway
I grab my
pen
noteing the
desert scape
bold steel poles
tower
standing cold accross
the warmth
of the desert sceenery
oil jacks drilling up
and down
seem to gallop like
iron horses
one black raven flies
alone
across the saphite blue
expanse
not far behind
two more
follow
they glide and
sway
seemingly carried
on the thrusts of
the wind
dried weeds and
brush
form lace like
patterns
adding
texture
lineing the mountains
edge
snow
just
a little from the night
before
its almost as if it
were shaken
from the sifter of
god
like fine powdered
sugar
dusted ever so slightly
accross
I try keeping
track
the electrical poles
still keeping watch
tower along the
roadside
......one
............two
...................three
they go by too quickly
to count
the water
tower
somehow it reminds me
of an old tv show
I can almost
remember
swimming there with my
sisters
one hillside catches my
eye
it appears to have
steps
where faint traces of
water
remain behind heavy
rains
that washed away
loose soil
light snow melts drift
there today
shallow rocks build
formations
a cyote hides
away from the noise of
the road
in the
distance
standing amoungst the
pine trees
and tumble weed
growth
one lone
palm
she seems so
poetic
standing there
alone......
just standing

Promises
By Depth Writersprawled over beautiful mountain promises
and I hear that it is a sight to be part of...
Whispers soaring through the sky
carried by yesterdays feathered eagles
a mission to allow the universe to see...
I carry my heart through heaven and dale
its attire driven by my own passion
tears streaming down a cheek...
Prayers begun...
people swaying over tree tops
stripping faces who wear masks
I am waiting for the turmoil to settle down
swimming in the ocean seas, arms raised up
thanking him, the man up stairs for all he is...
Weeds whisper names,
Carrying prayers the same
Waiting for all that he is...
I will wait through every season
I do not need a call or a reason
chambers waiting, key in the palm
love the bait on the line, sleeping till dawn

Xanadu, my girl of the mountains
she had her style
I was beguiled
mountain streams
touched by Paradise
so too, this
rocky mountain beauty
panache personified
elegance to my aw shucks Arkansas raw
she saw in me
chaste potpourri
eagles soar o'er imposing peaks and crags
I expel my breath
at such magnificence
lost in the still of the moment
rocky mountain beauty
takes my hand
together one
love has begun
breath catches in my throat
shortness, hard to breathe
not because of
thin mountain air
no
rocky mountain beauty
thudding of heart
clean off the chart
simple things
unhurried strolls . . . out-of-the-way places
rocky mountain beauty
she made gold out of the ordinary
soft voice
softer hands cupping roadside flowers
my love, my all
God, I stood tall
remembrance of our short romance, painful
rocky mountain beauty
touched my soul
while there, she aided and abetted my
maturity
manhood took center stage
she made me feel
I was a deal
time dulls so many things
I cannot recall
fuzzy thoughts of yesteryears
except one, stamped indelibly within my heart
rocky mountain beauty
Dee
maybe sometimes
I cross your mind
