If You Really Knew Me
By Sonnet DivaIf you really knew me, you would see the gentle soul inside
I bleed out all the pain in my words as my muse can not hide
While expressing myself in many forms I have found inner pride
If you really knew me, you’d chuckle at the Muse in overdrive
The constant writing I think keeps imagination alive
Now in retirement I find that I write to survive
If you really knew me, you’d know that I can be deeply hurt
Sometimes the Muse drives out the pain in a writing alert
I’m a happy person that is mostly an extrovert
If you really knew me, you’d know that being around children makes me whole
I’m amazed at their insights, perceptions, and energy they find hard to control
Guess you could say I’m a natural born teacher deep within my soul
If you really knew me you’d know that I don’t look for fame
My excessive writing for me is like a game
The name Sonnet Diva is one that I claim
If you really knew me, you’d know that I love to read
Poetry and books my mind it does so feed
While collabing with others I do it with speed
If you really knew me, you’d know I excel at many things
Gardening, cooking decorating, has given me wings
And yes all around the house she dances and sings
If you really knew me. my personality’s complex
I love watching the ocean and how it reflects
Mostly though you realize I’m always ready to Flex
