  shadowed windows, eyes with blinds.... we must pull them up, open their eyes
  let them see what we "view", let them run with dignity, admiration, and pride
  there's a lesson in every situation,
  so grab a hand, and begin to work towards a brighter tomorrow, cover the skies
  dance in the rain, walk with head held high, you've a mission a train, a desired ride
  Don't let the children fall; become a statistic in a gang, a number on a rap sheet
  ... they deserve far greater... pay attention to their needs, there wants, watch the stride..

  When we find the route, to forge... we must all walk hands enveloped
  ... for the innocent capture our hearts, a gentle touch we all developed
  Some of their faces make us teary eyed but, those tears will succeed
  to a brighter tomorrow, hard work and sweat, laboring inks proceed
  Our nation, we the people... have a ordianary dream
  we don't want to feel the screams
  
  We want to erase the hatred, the sad faces, the wars we battle
  ... skin of many colors united in the front, America the babies rattle
  let there be no more depression, no mother's weeping for a loss
  the painting of semi-gloss

  Diversity
  
  Shadows from the past; all different shades of skin
  fought united to unmask the definition of hatred’s sin.
  Sweat and tears marched building the footprints of a dream
  planting seeds in the fields of prejudice our equal themes
  we all share in the hunger in the painful crops that bleed;
  we all strive to obtain rights in the justice of humanity’s need
  to live as one, love as one, believe as one nation united
  all colors must blend before we shatter and fall divided.

  She tells them the same....
  Change begins in you my child, drop your weapons, your hateful words
  release the guilt, the built up resentment, throw away the bloody swords
  
  We are one nation... we must speak what we seek
  not look down on the ever meek
  our voice shall be a kind weapon we speak

  Our streets masked in graffiti galour, pictures depicting the past lore,
  Back then, the yesteryear...
  it was the same
  No one saw alike, in depths or passions of color
  even higher elites thought the world would be fuller
  We all grow up... seeing words alike
  we learn by peddling a bike, a trike
  mastering perfection as in two souls like
  as in the cascading past, and a mountain hike
  Over time people have risen their fists to fight
  ...no more do they see amber light
  darkness becomes their inner plight
  till' a winged being comes along to give them sight
  ..

  Did you say DIVERSITY
  **********************
  Our hairdo's aren't the same; we're of different races,
  We speak in different braces; we live in normal spaces,
  All of us face unique situations, we walk in beat, paces
  We all smile the same... When we see each other's faces
  Everyone puts their pants on the this way; leg, leg see?
  The sky is a beautiful portrait, pastel colored hue's to be
  Family always comes first, even your brothers, and me
  Some carry a brown bag lunch to work...
  other's sport a leather briefcase and plastic fork
  We are all different in spirit but, running the same is the heart
  Everyone looking for a lead, and escape from the chaos, we dart
  .
